Bally Bet is officially live in Massachusetts, entering the state’s online sports betting market Tuesday.
“We’re super excited to go live in Massachusetts, a state with such a rich sports history, a state where sports are part of the fabric of the community,” Brett Calapp, Bally’s chief operating officer, North American Interactive, said at Monday’s Massachusetts Gaming Commission meeting. “We can’t wait to participate in the entertainment, the fun, and the excitement of sports in your state.”
Calapp spoke glowingly about the MGC’s help during the licensing process, and MGC commissioners shared praise of Calapp and Bally’s personnel in response.
Jordan Maynard, the MGC’s interim executive director, made a point to thank Bally Bet for being present during a May roundtable discussion about sports betting limits that other major operators skipped.
Bally Bet Expansion
The sports betting app is now operational in eight states, including New York, and Bally Bet plans to enter Maryland later this month.
Massachusetts is now home to seven online sportsbooks, as Bally Bet joins BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, Fanatics Sportsbook, FanDuel, and ESPN BET.
Massachusetts has proven to be a challenging state for operators outside the major brands, with Betr leaving the market earlier this year, citing financial reasons.

Bally Bet faces a stiff challenge in generating Massachusetts market share, as it’s set to compete with some of the biggest names in the sports betting industry as a late entrant into the market.
