Pete Golding’s Rebels have already beaten two ranked teams, and Trinidad Chambliss has played his way to the top of the Heisman board, completing 70% of his throws for 924 yards, seven touchdowns, and two picks. He is 14–2 as a starter and has thrown a touchdown pass in 16 straight games. A sold-out Swamp is a real test, but this quarterback doesn’t rattle.

The market knows something the rankings don’t. If this line holds, it will be only the fifth time since 1978 that a top-five team has been an underdog against a team ranked outside the top 20, and the previous four favorites went 4–0 straight up and against the spread. Jon Sumrall has Florida scoring 162 points through his first three games, the most by any Gators coach to open a tenure, and the offense sits third nationally in points per play behind only Georgia and Indiana. Jadan Baugh has cleared 100 yards in every game with eight rushing scores, and he is running at an Ole Miss front that has surrendered more than 159 rushing yards per contest.

The spot is the other half of it. Ole Miss just played the biggest home game in recent program history and now has to travel, and Kewan Lacy’s shoulder leaves the Rebels’ run game in question against a Brad White defense that has been physical up front.
