College football Week 4 odds and analysis

Illinois vs. Nebraska

  • Spread: Illinois +8, Nebraska -8

It’s a Friday night Big Ten showdown as Illinois travels to face Nebraska. The Fighting Illini pulled out a 23-17 upset over Kansas in Week 2 after entering as 4.5-point home dogs. Nebraska had its way with visiting Colorado, picking up a 28-10 victory. The Cornhuskers hold a 14-6-1 all-time lead versus Illinois and won last season’s meeting between these two squads by a score of 20-7.

NC State vs. Clemson

  • Spread: NC State , Clemson
  • Moneyline: NC State , Clemson
  • Over/under:

College football conference odds continue to shift for the ACC, and this showdown could have a further bearing on the board. Both clubs are 1-1 on the season so far and have been on the wrong side of convincing defeats. NC State suffered a 51-10 loss to Tennessee in Week 2, and Clemson dropped its opener to Georgia, 34-3. The Wolfpack have taken two of their last three meetings with the Tigers.

USC vs. Michigan

  • Spread: USC , Michigan
  • Moneyline: USC , Michigan
  • Over/under:

Since the beginning of the season, USC and Michigan have headed in opposite directions in College Football Playoff odds. The Trojans have been on the rise after a 2-0 start, and the Wolverines have taken a tumble after a convincing home loss to Texas. The last meeting of these two programs happened at the 2007 Rose Bowl, a 32-18 win for USC.

Utah vs. Oklahoma State

  • Spread: Utah , Oklahoma State

In its first season in the Big 12, Utah is the favorite to win the conference. As the tight spread for this one indicates, though, Oklahoma State could have something to say about that. In addition to the battle for conference supremacy, two of the nation’s top stars will be on display in Utes QB Cam Rising and Cowboys RB Ollie Gordon II.

Tennessee vs. Oklahoma

  • Spread: Tennessee , Oklahoma
  • Moneyline: Tennessee , Oklahoma
  • Over/under:

Tennessee will be in Oklahoma for this SEC showdown. As the over/under indicates, there could be some fireworks in the forecast at Memorial Stadium. Volunteers QB Nico Iamaleava is off to a stellar start and jockeying for fifth place in Heisman Trophy odds. Sooners QB Jackson Arnold has thrown for six TDs to help lead his club to a 2-0 start.
