0 13

The Kansas City Chiefs will open their title defense this postseason by hosting the Miami Dolphins in a wild card weekend matchup on Saturday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, and Peacock will have the broadcast. The Chiefs are at on the point spread, and the game has an over/under line of points.

Wild card round player props: Dolphins vs. Chiefs

The Chiefs sputtered down the stretch this season and never seemed to find their stride offensively with Matt Nagy replacing longtime offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce had their lowest outputs during their time together, but the team’s defense was elite under coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. When these teams met in Week 9 in Germany, the offenses were held to 175 and 174 passing yards in a 21-14 Chiefs win.

The Dolphins’ offense went on a tear to open last season and was on a similar pace this season before the team’s schedule ramped up. It then posted under 300 total yards in losses at Philadelphia and in Germany to the Chiefs. Miami’s offense also suffered injuries down the stretch, with Tyreek Hill (ankle), DeVon Achane (foot) and Tua Tagovailoa (shoulder) mostly playing through their issues, while Jaylen Waddle (ankle) and Raheem Mostert (ankle) missed their final two games.

Below, we will take a look at some player props for this matchup. If you are located in a state where pick’em contests are legal, feel free to check out our PrizePicks and Betr Picks reviews.

Anytime TD scorer props for Dolphins vs. Chiefs

We have an over/under of for this game, with both teams playing better on defense than offense down the stretch. The Chiefs scored an average of 22.8 points per game and allowed 16.4 points per game at home this season. The Dolphins scored 26.1 points per game on the road, compared to 31.9 points per game at home this season.

Raheem Mostert led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns this season, but he’s not getting the shortest odds to find the end zone in this playoff game. That designation goes to Chiefs lead back Isiah Pacheco, who has totaled five touchdowns with 100.8 scrimmage yards per game over his last four appearances.

Patrick Mahomes has been one of the best postseason quarterbacks in NFL history so far in his career, averaging 291.7 passing yards per game with a 35-to-7 touchdown-to-interception tally in 14 appearances and two Super Bowl MVP awards. His only playoff games away from Arrowhead Stadium were in his three Super Bowl appearances.

Tua Tagovailoa averaged similar passing yardage (270.8) on the road this season, but his completion rate dipped from 71.6% to 66.8% in road games. He’s taken seven sacks and completed just 59.8% of his passes for three touchdowns and one interception in two career starts against Kansas City. This is his postseason debut.
