Kalshi MLB Partnerships: 5 Teams Sign, League Deal Pending

35

Kalshi announced brand partnerships with five Major League Baseball clubs on Tuesday, expanding its presence in the sport even as it chases a bigger prize: a league-wide deal with MLB.

The Five Deals

Kalshi is partnering with the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants. These agreements cover the general in-stadium branding and signage inside and outside of the ballparks, online promotions, and some clubs have even included team-specific offers in their mobile app.

The Dodgers deal includes Kalshi-branded LED signage around Dodger Stadium, naming rights for the stadium’s Gold Glove Bar, and exclusive on-site activations in Centerfield Plaza during the season.

The Red Sox named Kalshi their official and exclusive prediction market partner in a multi-year agreement. LED signage goes up at Fenway Park, and the deal adds radio integrations on WEEI.

The Braves, Giants, and Padres did not disclose terms.

The League Deal Kalshi Doesn’t Have

Kalshi confirmed it is in ongoing discussions with MLB for a league-wide partnership. Its competitor, Polymarket, signed an official MLB deal in March and even partnered with the New York Yankees earlier this month.

Kalshi holds partnerships with both the NHL and the NFL that permit league trademark use. MLB’s absence from that short list explains why the company keeps pushing.

Why Did Kalshi Partner with Five MLB Teams?

Three of the five clubs — the Dodgers, Giants, and Padres — play in California, which has no legal sports betting. Prediction markets rank among the few legal options California residents have for trading on sports outcomes, so Kalshi competes there without facing DraftKings or FanDuel.

That market carries risk. Three California tribes sued Kalshi under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act in Blue Lake Rancheria v. Kalshi. A district court denied their injunction request, and the Ninth Circuit heard the appeal on July 12.

Boston presents the sharpest contrast. Massachusetts remains the only one of these five markets where an active injunction blocks Kalshi’s sports contracts, and the Red Sox are promoting the platform anyway.

Georgia imposes no restrictions and faces no pending cases, which makes the Braves the cleanest deal of the group.

Kalshi also built toward Tuesday quietly. The Dodgers added Kalshi to their signage rotation weeks earlier without an announcement — an approach Sportico tied to the backlash the New York Mets absorbed over their Novig partnership in July. Tuesday’s coordinated rollout marks the shift to going loud.

Regulatory State of Play

Kalshi’s legal position remains split.

The Third Circuit ruled 2-1 for Kalshi in its New Jersey case on April 6, 2026, becoming the first federal appeals court to hold that the Commodity Exchange Act preempts state gambling enforcement against CFTC-regulated prediction markets. The CFTC filed an amicus brief with the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court asserting exclusive federal jurisdiction, directly opposing a coalition of state attorneys general.

Kalshi has also lost ground. Trial courts ruled against the company in Maryland, Nevada, Massachusetts, and Ohio. The Massachusetts SJC heard argument in early May, and observers expected a decision within roughly four months — putting a ruling in play any week now.

Looking Ahead

The prediction market field is consolidating around a handful of major operators, and the best prediction market apps now compete for the same team inventory.

If five clubs generate enough momentum, Kalshi may land its league deal sooner than expected.
