How to Determine Best NFL Survivor Pool Week 3 Picks After Two Weeks
The first two weeks have already punished anyone treating a large spread as automatic advancement.
Tampa Bay was a popular Week 2 survivor option against Cleveland before the Browns walked into Raymond James Stadium and won 23-19. The Chargers burned another group of entries with a 26-14 home loss to Las Vegas, one week after dropping their opener to Arizona as the biggest favorite on the board.
Baltimore did the same thing as a touchdown-plus home favorite, losing 24-17 to New Orleans.
That should carry straight into your NFL survivor pool Week 3 picks. You want the team most likely to survive Sunday, not necessarily the largest point spread on the board.
Best Prediction Market Promos: Kalshi and Polymarket
The best prediction market promos give you another way to evaluate the Week 3 slate before committing an entry and a position on NFL survivor pool Week 3 picks.
Kalshi and Polymarket are two of the major prediction market apps available for NFL contracts. Eligible new users can check the Kalshi promo code HANDLE and Polymarket promo code HANDLE offers before comparing their contract prices with the traditional sportsbook market.
That extra market read is useful in survivor pools. A team can carry a big spread without necessarily being the best combination of win probability, matchup and future value.
My Favorite NFL Survivor Pool Week 3 Picks
Here are three different options to consider for your NFL survivor pool Week 3 picks.
1. Seattle Seahawks at Washington Commanders (-7.5)
Seattle moves to the top of this version of the board because Washington has a major quarterback issue entering Week 3.
Jayden Daniels dislocated his left elbow against Dallas, putting Marcus Mariota next in line for an 0-2 Commanders team. That’s a significant change before facing a Seattle team laying more than a touchdown on the road.
Road favorites always carry some extra survivor risk, but Washington’s quarterback situation pushes Seattle ahead of several teams that might otherwise look safer on paper.
If the Seahawks are still available in your pool, they’re my first choice this week.
2. Green Bay Packers vs. Atlanta Falcons (-6.5)
Green Bay gets the benefit of Lambeau Field on Thursday night against an Atlanta offense already making a quarterback change.
The Falcons enter Falcons vs. Packers at 0-2 and are turning to Michael Penix Jr. after Cooper Rush was pulled during the 34-3 loss to Carolina.
Green Bay isn’t a spotless survivor option. The Packers needed overtime against the Jets last week and enter Thursday on a short turnaround. That keeps them below Seattle.
For survivor purposes, though, Green Bay only needs to win. A home matchup against an 0-2 team changing quarterbacks is enough to put the Packers near the top of my board.
3. Detroit Lions vs. New York Jets (-6.5)
Detroit takes the third spot as another home favorite rather than forcing a survivor entry onto one of the week’s double-digit spreads.
The Jets showed last week that they can make a favored opponent work, taking Green Bay to overtime before losing 20-17. That alone keeps Detroit from ranking higher.
The appeal is the setup. Detroit gets the game at home and is favored by nearly a touchdown, while survivor players only need the Lions to escape with the win.
There’s more volatility here than with Seattle, but Detroit gives anyone holding multiple entries another option without immediately burning Buffalo, San Francisco or Kansas City.

Locking In Your NFL Survivor Pool Week 3 Picks
Seattle is the headline choice among NFL survivor pool Week 3 picks, with Washington’s quarterback change creating the matchup I’m most comfortable attacking. Green Bay is the Thursday-night option if you want your result settled early, while Detroit gives multiple-entry players another home favorite to work with.
Buffalo, San Francisco and Kansas City remain some of the largest favorites on the Week 3 board, but saving those teams can matter over the course of a long survivor pool. There is no reason to burn every premium team in September if another matchup gives you a path through the week.
Before locking anything in, recheck the final injury reports and movement around the NFL slate. Week 1 and Week 2 already showed how quickly a supposedly safe survivor pick can disappear.
