Virginia Casinos Revenue Hits $92M in June

26

Virginia casinos continued their strong growth in June 2026, generating more than $92 million in total gaming revenue across the state’s five active properties.

It’s a trend that has been developing all year long. The numbers piggy-back off of big months in April and May, as well.

The latest report from the Virginia Lottery highlights steady performance in both slot machines and table games, while also showing how casino tax revenue supports local communities and state programs.

Virginia Casinos Revenue Overview for June 2026

In June, Virginia casinos produced a combined adjusted gross revenue (AGR) of $92.05 million. Slots accounted for the majority, bringing in over $71 million, while table games added nearly $21 million.

Among the five operating locations, Caesars Virginia led the market with $32.1 million in total revenue. Rivers Casino Portsmouth followed with $24.7 million, while Hard Rock Bristol generated just under $21 million. Live! Virginia reported $13.45 million, and the Interim Gaming Hall in Norfolk contributed $874,000 as it continues to operate on a smaller scale.

Top Performing Virginia Casinos

Caesars Virginia stood out as the top performer in June, driven by strong results from both slots and table games. Its large gaming floor and growing customer base continue to push revenue higher each month.

Rivers Casino Portsmouth also showed solid performance, especially in table games, where it brought in more than $6.1 million. Hard Rock Bristol remained competitive, supported by consistent slot machine play.

Live! Virginia delivered balanced results across both gaming categories, while Norfolk’s interim facility is expected to grow once a full-scale casino opens.

There’s also ongoing discussions about adding a casino in Fairfax.

Casino Taxes and State Contributions

Virginia’s casino industry is not just about gaming revenue. It also plays a key role in funding public programs. In June alone, Virginia casinos generated $16.6 million in taxes for the state.

These tax funds are distributed across several important areas:

  • Local host cities received over $5.5 million, helping fund infrastructure and community projects.
  • The Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund received more than $132,000.
  • The Family and Children’s Trust Fund collected over $33,000.
  • The Virginia Indigenous People’s Trust Fund received funding tied to the Norfolk casino partnership.
  • The remaining funds, totaling nearly $10.9 million, stayed in the Gaming Proceeds Fund for broader state use.
