Zoox Las Vegas Robotaxis Arrive at Resorts World Las Vegas

25

Las Vegas is known for bold ideas and next-level experiences, and the latest innovation is no exception. Resorts World Las Vegas has partnered with Zoox, an Amazon-owned company, to introduce fully autonomous robotaxis to the Strip.

This first-of-its-kind agreement brings a new level of convenience, technology, and excitement to one of the city’s busiest destinations.

Zoox has also partnered with Uber to bring the robotaxi experience to the ride-sharing platform in select cities.

The move could help soften the tourism decline Las Vegas has been experiencing. It may also come in handy when the new baseball stadium opens.

A First for the Las Vegas Strip

The partnership, announced in May 2025, makes Resorts World Las Vegas the first Strip property to officially team up with Zoox Las Vegas for autonomous ride services. As part of the deal, the resort built a dedicated pickup and drop-off hub at its south porte-cochere. This setup allows guests to easily access robotaxi rides right from the property.

This move reflects Resorts World’s focus on innovation and guest experience. By adding Zoox robotaxis, the resort is expanding how visitors move around the city while keeping comfort and ease at the center.

What Makes Zoox Robotaxis Different

Unlike traditional self-driving cars, Zoox vehicles are designed specifically for autonomous travel. There is no steering wheel, no pedals, and no defined front or back. The vehicle can drive in either direction, which makes it more flexible in tight city spaces like the Las Vegas Strip.

Inside, the cabin feels more like a lounge than a car. Up to four passengers can sit facing each other in a spacious layout. Riders can control temperature, lighting, and music from their seats. There are also screens to track the trip and wireless charging for devices.

For example, a group staying at Resorts World can request a Zoox ride, relax in the cabin while heading to the Sphere, and adjust the lighting and music to match the mood of their night out.

How to Use Zoox Las Vegas

Using Zoox Las Vegas is simple and similar to other ride-hailing apps.

  • Download the Zoox app on iOS or Android.
  • Enter your pickup and destination.
  • Walk to the designated pickup area, such as the hub at Resorts World Las Vegas.
  • The vehicle arrives, doors open automatically, and your ride begins.

During the trip, the vehicle drives itself while you sit back and enjoy the experience. If needed, live support is available through the system.

For now, some rides have been offered for free to encourage people to try the service, though this may change as the program expands.

Where Zoox Can Take You

Zoox robotaxis currently operate on select routes along the Las Vegas Strip and nearby attractions. Popular destinations include:

  • Resorts World Las Vegas
  • AREA15
  • Topgolf
  • New York-New York Hotel
  • T-Mobile Arena
  • The Sphere
  • Las Vegas Convention Center

Airport service to Harry Reid International Airport is being tested and may be available soon.

Safety and Technology Behind the Ride

Zoox uses advanced technology to safely navigate busy city streets. Each vehicle is equipped with cameras, LiDAR, radar, and thermal sensors that provide a full 360-degree view of its surroundings. These systems can detect pedestrians, vehicles, and obstacles from over 100 meters away.

The AI software predicts how traffic and people will move, sometimes up to eight seconds in advance. This allows the vehicle to make smooth and safe driving decisions in real time.

There are also multiple backup systems for steering, braking, and power to ensure reliability. While the vehicles are fully autonomous, remote operators monitor rides and can step in if needed. In Las Vegas, there is even the ability to communicate directly with local authorities if necessary.

Resorts World Las Vegas Guest Feedback

Resorts World Las Vegas has focused heavily on making this partnership feel like a natural extension of its hospitality. Staff were trained early, and team members even tested the rides before launch to better assist guests.

The response has been largely positive. Visitors often describe the experience as smooth, quiet, and futuristic. The spacious design and unique setup make it appealing for a wide range of guests, from tech enthusiasts to families and couples.

Due to high demand, rides can sometimes be difficult to secure, especially during peak times.

A Growing Trend in Las Vegas

The introduction of Zoox Las Vegas robotaxis is part of a larger shift toward autonomous transportation in the city. Other companies, including Waymo and Tesla, are also working to expand their presence.

However, the Resorts World Las Vegas partnership stands out because of its direct integration into a major resort experience. It is not just about transportation—it is about enhancing how guests explore the city.

The Future of Getting Around the Strip

As Zoox continues to expand, its presence in Las Vegas is expected to grow. More routes, additional vehicles, and possible airport service will make the system even more useful for visitors.

For now, Resorts World Las Vegas offers one of the easiest ways to try this new technology firsthand. Whether you are heading to a show, a restaurant, or another resort, Zoox provides a hands-free way to travel in style.
